About us, and what we do!
At FacilitAid we are passionate about education in Africa and are currently focusing on building and equipping schools in the central African country of Burundi.
Since 2003, as part of our "Burundi Schools Initiative", we have built 10 schools and are providing education for over 6,000 children!
We have an excellent track record in running sustainable, stakeholder-initiated projects and work in co-operation with the Government of the Republic of Burundi. We choose situations where we can make a genuine sustainable difference. Our projects are carefully researched and monitored to ensure that we get the results we planned.
Through a new initiative, we are asking knitters to get involved by knitting special gift Burundi Bears.

We work with local people, so that not only does the end product bring the benefits needed, but also the whole project stimulates the local economy and helps in the empowerment process.
We keep our donors up to date with progress reports on the schools they are involved with and 100% of donations designated for Burundi go to Burundi to build and equip the schools. Our administrative costs are covered through separate donations and, even then, form less than 1% of our annual turnover.
